The Prep's proud athletic tradition began in 1907 when St. John's fielded its first football team. Basketball and baseball followed in 1908, and hockey joined the lineup in 1912. Today, Prep students play 19 varsity sports and the Eagles have gone on to win dozens of championships and titles, including winning the Boston Globe Nason Award for overall excellence a remarkable 20 times.
